/Film visited the sets of Rebel Moon when they met with Zack. When asked about the inspiration behind the movie, the director let us into his little secret. Subsequently, the director revealed that the inspiration behind the movie was an 80s animated cartoon series. Zack related Rebel Moon with Heavy Metal, the 80s animation. He revealed that Rebel Moon is a sci-fi film inspired by the fantasy series.
“There’s a weirdness, a little bit, to the sci-fi, a sci-fi weirdness that I love, where everything’s not that straightforward and it’s a million mysteries,” said Snyder to /Film.
The Sci-Fi Space Opera Movie And Its Visual Stills That Dropped The Jaws Of The Viewers
Netflix released the trailer of the movie, Rebel Moon on the 22nd of August, 2023. And the trailer itself has brought the attention of viewers over the visuals of the movie. There is an immense scale, beautiful visuals, deep storyline in the movie. The movie has already been approved for not one but two sequels. Eventually, following the movie’s storyline, the sequels will also fall under the sci-fi space opera genre of the first movie.
The movie follows the journey of people who live under scrutiny in a totalitarian mother world. Furthermore, it’s about the journey of Kora, a former member of the mother world’s army. Kora decides to rebel against the mother world and fight for justice. Joining her in this venture are Djimon Hounsou, Charlie Hunnam, Staz Nair, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, and Anthony Hopkins. Sofia Boutella plays the role of Kora.
